Popolo Music Group (PMG) has officially announced the signing of 18-year-old
rising artist Angele Lapp, further solidifying the company’s position as a
fast-emerging, artist-first global music label.
The signing comes at a pivotal moment in Angele Lapp’s career. The
Cebu-born singer had been steadily gaining attention for her vocal ability,
emotional range, and authenticity—momentum that industry observers say was
beginning to attract interest from larger record labels. By securing Angele at
this stage, Popolo Music Group demonstrated strategic timing and a clear
commitment to long-term artist development over short-term hype.
Angele Lapp’s music is characterized by emotionally resonant vocals,
contemporary pop melodies, and a youthful sincerity shaped by her grassroots
beginnings, positioning her as a compelling new voice with global crossover
potential.
“Angele Lapp embodies the kind of talent we believe in—authentic,
hardworking, and globally relevant,” said Paul Pooh Lunt, Co-Founder of Popolo
Music Group. “At PMG, our focus is not on controlling artists, but on building
sustainable careers and giving talent the tools to grow on a global stage.”
The deal reflects a broader shift within the music industry, as emerging
artists increasingly seek partnerships that offer creative freedom,
transparency, and fair participation in the value they generate. Industry
observers note that independent, globally connected labels like PMG are
increasingly securing top talent earlier in their careers by offering
flexibility and development-driven models rather than traditional major-label
structures. While specific contract terms were not disclosed, sources close to
the signing describe the agreement as highly favorable and aligned with PMG’s
equitable philosophy.
Founded by Paul “Pooh” Lunt and Huong Kim, Popolo Music Group is an
independent, global entertainment company focused on discovering and developing
K-pop and P-pop (Philippine Pop) artists through worldwide online auditions,
structured training, and comprehensive artist development programs. The company
works with solo acts, girl groups, and boy bands and maintains operational
bases in Manila, Seoul, and Los Angeles.
“Angele has a rare balance of discipline and vulnerability,” said Huong
Kim, Co-Founder of Popolo Music Group. “She is at the perfect stage to be
developed properly—without being rushed or molded into something artificial.”
Originally from Carcar, Angele Lapp built her early following through
consistent online song covers and performances at local festivals across Cebu.
“Coming from Carcar, Cebu, this opportunity means everything to me,” said
Angele Lapp. “Popolo Music Group believed in my potential and my vision. I’m
excited to learn, grow, and share my music with a much wider audience.”
Angele Lapp is currently undergoing artist development under PMG’s
training program, with her first official releases targeted for later this
year.
With the addition of Angele Lapp to its roster, Popolo Music Group
continues to reinforce its vision of building global pop artists through
fairness, discipline, and long-term thinking—signaling a new blueprint for discovering, developing, and sustaining emerging talent.
